About IDP IELTS Mongolia

IDP IELTS Mongolia is the official IELTS test centre in Mongolia.

IDP Education operates in Mongolia in partnership with Career Aid LLC (English Aid). We have been delivering the IELTS test in Mongolia since 1 May 2025.

To bring the test closer to candidates, we partner with other organisations to open test venues. This expands access at universities and in the provinces and increases seat availability. See the Test venue page for current and upcoming locations.

We provide reliable, professional support at every stage of your IELTS journey — from registration to results. Our modern, fully equipped test rooms and experienced team are here to help you succeed.

IELTS test day

Know what to expect on test day — before, during and after your IELTS test — so you arrive fully prepared.

Arrive early and bring all required documents, as the check-in process can vary between venues. After check-in you will lock away your personal belongings and be guided to your seat by an invigilator. From this point you may not talk to other test takers.

Once the test begins, keep track of time so you can complete every section. If you have a question, raise your hand for an invigilator. When the test ends, you can leave the room and collect your belongings.

Results for the computer-delivered test are released in 1–5 days. Your official Test Report Form (TRF) can be collected from the test venue.

💡 The test starts at 10:00 AM — we recommend arriving between 09:10 and 09:30. Bring the original ID document you used at registration.

Special requirements

If you have low vision or other special requirements, find out how your test venue can support you on test day.

Whether you are vision impaired, have a speech impediment or another medical condition that means you can only take IELTS under special arrangements, IELTS test venues across our network can help you.

We can offer braille papers, modified larger print, enlarged prompts on the Speaking task card, special Listening versions (including lip-reading), amplification equipment, word-processing software and voice-activated software.

It is best to contact your test venue before booking — they will advise on available dates. The notice period varies depending on the modifications your test needs.

Which test do I take?

Learn about the different IELTS test types and find the one that matches your study, work or migration goals.

If you plan to study in higher education or seek professional registration, take IELTS Academic. If you want to study at secondary level, work or migrate to an English-speaking country, IELTS General Training might be right for you.

Where you want to study, work or migrate will affect which test you need. Government agencies, institutions and other recognising organisations set their own IELTS requirements, so always confirm with the relevant official websites.
