Registration & Payment

Go to ielts.idp.com, click BOOK YOUR TEST, choose your test type and date, then enter your personal details. You can also watch our registration guide video on the IELTS IDP MONGOLIA YouTube channel.
For registration: a valid passport or accepted national ID. On test day: bring the same original document you used at registration. Copies, photos or expired documents are generally not accepted.
The IELTS test fee is 909,000 MNT.
Payment is made by bank transfer only. After you create your booking, the bank account details and payment instructions are shown.
Within 72 hours of registering. If payment is not received, the booking is automatically cancelled.
Yes — receipts can be issued to an individual or an organisation. It is sent to your registered email after the test.

First check your Spam/Junk and other folders, and verify that the email address you entered at registration is correct.
A confirmation notification is sent to your registered email address once your registration is confirmed.
The email address and the name used at registration cannot be changed — your name must exactly match the ID document (national ID or passport) used at registration. Other details, such as your phone number, can be updated.
Yes, you can request a cancellation. Refund conditions depend on how far ahead of the test date you apply. Submit your request as early as possible via the Submit a request section.

Test types

IELTS Academic is for university admission, postgraduate study and professional registration. IELTS General Training is for work, migration, vocational training or some post-secondary study.
UKVI IELTS is an IELTS test with additional security procedures approved by UK Visas and Immigration. The content and scoring are the same as regular IELTS, but it is taken at UKVI-approved centres under special procedures. It is usually required for:
  • UK study visas
  • UK work visas
  • Certain immigration visas
  • Visa requirements of some UK schools
It depends on your goal. For university, master's or doctoral study, candidates usually take IELTS Academic. For work, migration or everyday and professional needs, General Training may be the right choice. Check your institution's or visa requirements first.

Test day

The test starts at 10:00 AM. Check-in and ID verification take place beforehand, so we recommend arriving between 09:10 and 09:30.
Bring the original valid passport or accepted national ID used at registration. Candidates under 18 should bring a completed Consent Form.
The test starts at 10:00 AM sharp, so arrive early. Latecomers risk not being admitted to the test.
Notify the IDP IELTS centre before your test so your new passport details can be updated.

No — all required materials are provided by the centre.

Listening, Reading and Writing together last 2 hours 40 minutes. The Speaking test is a separate 11–14 minutes.
Yes — they run in sequence between 10:00 and 12:40 on the same day. Speaking follows on a separate schedule, usually from 13:20, at the time slot you chose during registration. The gap between 12:40 and your Speaking time is your lunch break.

Scores & Results

Results are usually released within 1–5 days. A notification is sent to your registered email, and you can log in to your account to check your scores.

The paper and electronic TRF are equally valid official documents. Paper TRF: collect it in person from our centre — request it in advance via the Order a paper TRF section. eTRF: after results are released you will be notified by email and can download it from your account.
IELTS scores are valid for 2 years from the test date.
Yes — EOR (Enquiry on Results) is a request to have your test re-marked. You can apply if you have doubts about your score. Requests must be made within 6 weeks of the result date.
The fee is 384,192 MNT and may vary with the exchange rate. The fee is fully refunded if any band score increases. If no score changes, the fee is not refunded.
EOR requests are not accepted through the "Submit a request" form on this website — you apply yourself by logging in to the IDP registration system where you received your results. For guidance, contact info@englishaid.mn or call +976 7555 5005.
EOR results are usually returned within 2–21 days. You will be notified at your registered email address.

Changes & Refunds

Yes, subject to seat availability. You must apply before your test date. A transfer fee of 10% of the test fee (90,900 MNT) applies. Submit your request via the Change test date section.
Refund eligibility depends on when you apply and the conditions. Apply before your test date via the Submit a request section.
Notify our centre before the test. Depending on the circumstances, a transfer or refund request will be considered.

One Skill Retake & Speaking

Yes — with One Skill Retake you can retake a single skill. Our centre holds OSR tests every Thursday; the fee is 565,000 MNT. OSR must be taken within 60 days of your original IELTS test.
Speaking is conducted in two formats: face-to-face interview with an examiner, or video call. The format depends on the test schedule and available options.
No — the scheduled Speaking date cannot be changed. You take Speaking according to the schedule set at registration.
Yes — video-call Speaking is an official IELTS format with the same standards and assessment criteria as face-to-face. The centre provides a high-quality connection and all necessary equipment.

Preparation

Yes — after you register and pay, preparation materials and lessons are sent to you by email.
Not at the moment — our centre does not currently offer mock tests.

Transfer, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Follow these simple steps to transfer or cancel your IELTS test, and read our refund policy in one place.

Transfer

Note: Requests to postpone must be made strictly 5 weeks before a paper-based test and 15 days before a computer-delivered test, by email or in person only. A transfer can be done only once and the date can be moved by up to 3 months.

Cancellation & Refund

Note: Cancellation or transfer requests must be made strictly 5 weeks before a paper-based test. Computer-delivered tests cannot be transferred or cancelled with fewer than 15 days remaining (even if registration and payment were completed within that period). A previously transferred test cannot be cancelled or refunded.
