One Skill Retake (OSR) – IDP IELTS Mongolia

If three of your four skills are where you need them and only one fell short, you do not have to sit the whole test again. One Skill Retake lets you retake just that skill and receive a new TRF with the updated score.

Who it suits

Looking at 204 OSR cases at our centre, OSR works best for people who are close to their target. It is used most by test takers whose overall band is between 6.0 and 7.5 and whose weakest skill sits 0.5–1.0 below the rest.

If your overall level is well below your target, OSR will not close the gap — lifting one skill will not be enough. In that case, keep preparing and sit the full test again.

Conditions

Within 60 days. You must take OSR within 60 days of your original computer-delivered IELTS test. After that, a full test is required.
One skill, once. Choose any one of Listening, Reading, Writing or Speaking. You cannot take an OSR of an OSR.
Computer-delivered only. Your original test must have been a computer-delivered IELTS.
A new TRF. You receive a new Test Report Form with the updated score. Check in advance whether the organisation you are applying to accepts OSR results — not all do.

We hold OSR tests every Thursday. The fee is 579,600₮ — less than a full test. See the fees page for all prices.
